How to Create a
Basic Motion Tween and a Library Symbol
- Open Flash
- Create a Circle and drag
it onto the workSpace
- Pick a color
- Select the paint bucket and apply
the color to the circle for this example first create a blue ball.
- Click on the Keyframe where the circle
is located in the timeline
- Then choice from the Insert Menu and
Select "Convert
to Symbol" (This will put your Circle into the Library for reuse
it)
- Name the Symbol BlueBall and Select
the Movie Clip radio button.
- To find your Library's reusable symbols:
- Go to Top Menu and Select
Window->Library
- Delete your original symbol from Layer 1
- Rename the layer BlueBall (To rename the Layer click on the name (Layer1)
and Flash will let you type over the name.
- Drag your blueball from the
Library and place it onto the Workspace wherever you like.
- In the Properties
Frame - Change the Tween
to be a Motion Tween
- In the TimeLine - Insert
a Blank Keyframe in frame 10. You'll be doing this every 10 frames
or so - whenever you want the Ball to change position.
- Drag the blueball
from the Library onto the Workspace where you want the ball to have
moved to.
- Remember to change the Tween to a Motion
Tween for each new Blank Keyframe. When the tween is successful you
will see a straight arrow. If it isn't successful the arrow will be
dotted. If it's dotted try again.
- Repeat this at least 4 times for a each ball.
- Do the same thing but
with different colored balls
