LESSON 9b:  Introduction to Java

Mass Curriculum Standards:

Standard 1: Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers and applications as well as an understanding of concepts underlying hardware, software, and connectivity.

Standard 2: Demonstrate responsible use of technology and an understanding of ethics and safety issues in using electronic media.

Math Standards

Number Sense/Discrete Mathematics: programs deal with differing number types and bases as well as their finite representation in RAM.

Objectives:

· For students to continue taking the Sun Java tutorials so they can learn the language basics before they start a new project.

Learning Experience

• Students will continue the Java tutorials beginning at getting started.

Students will be Assessed on

• How well students work independently
• How their progress through the tutorial
