The design concepts with this picture we want to stress is to emphasize the parasailer. We can do this by bringing the object closer and trim extraneous space around the object. It is best to place central objects towards one edge of the picture rather than in the center. We’re going to put a border around the photo to in such a way that it highlights the photo.


This takes 3 steps
1. Zoom and crop the photo to remove excessive background.
2. Add a border, smooth its edges and fill it with color
3. Resize photo to fit.

Start By

1. Open parasailing file
2. Save as myParasailing.psd (make sure you save it either on the desk top or your application folder)
3. Create a duplicate layer and delete the original locked layer
4. Zoom in
5. In the Navigation Palette crop photo 5 ¼ to the right to 3 ¼ down.
6. Release mouse and Enter
Creating a Blended Border
1. Select all
2. Select Modify Border and type in 100
3. Select Modify Smooth ->50
4. Edit Fill – foreground and Vivid Light
5. Save as JPEG
